Renaming the Community: Alas, Can't Do It
Jan. 9th, 2012 09:02 pmboundbooksThank you to everyone who responded to my query for feedback on re-naming the community. Unfortunately, we can't rename the community. I'd missed the very last sentence of the FAQ on renaming communities:
I filed a ticket with Support to ask if there was any chance that community renames with members might happen in the future. Unfortunately, Support explained that Dreamwidth explicitly does not want to enable this for reasons of site-load and concerns over user-confusion.
So, I hope that over time we'll get a reputation as 'that pan-fanwork Harry Potter community'. I think that there's a strong possibility of that occuring, because we're the most active general-interest Harry Potter community on all of Dreamwidth!
Thank you to all of you lovely members who make this community work. :)
